The NBPA is pleased to announce the addition of its new Bicycle Unit Program, a new and efficient way to better serve its customers.

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. – The New Brunswick Parking Authority (NBPA) is pleased to announce the addition of its new Bicycle Unit Program, a new and efficient way to better serve the NBPA’s nearly 21,000 weekly customers.
The NBPA Bicycle Unit consists of four Parking Authority attendants assigned to bicycles between the hours of 6 a.m. and dusk on a daily basis as part of their daily patrols of City parking zones.
The bicycles are intended to provide the attendants with high mobility and visibility as well as a proactive method to reach areas in facilities usually inaccessible by vehicles. It is the goal of the NBPA to provide enhanced customer service, direction and other assistance to residents and visitors in the areas serviced by the New Brunswick Parking Authority.

“The bicycle unit parking services attendant will provide the high level of service that our patrons expect while at the same time act as ambassadors for the New Brunswick Parking Authority and the City of New Brunswick, “ said Harry J. Delgado, Director of Operations and Security for the New Brunswick Parking Authority.
The bicycle unit will enable Parking Services to respond quickly to any situation as an alternative to vehicle response, largely using the network of bicycle lanes developed by the City of New Brunswick to ensure easy travel through City streets at high traffic volume times in an eco-friendly manner. By utilizing this existing infrastructure, NBPA attendants will be better positioned to respond to calls and interact with customers in a fluid manner that is in line with the City’s commitment to open streets that are accessible to all.
