New Brunswick Breaks Ground On New Elementary School Building
The project will nearly double Paul Robeson Community School for the Arts in size.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ-- Local representatives broke ground on a new elementary school building on New Brunswick yesterday, signaling the start of a two year project.
The Paul Robeson Community School for the Arts will see its existing 59,400 square feet totally renovated, and a new, 60,000, three story building will be built. The new building will add 30 classrooms and a new multi-purpose room for the students.
Representatives of New Brunswick Public Schools and the New Jersey School Development Authority (SDA), New Brunswick Mayor James Cahill and Assemblyman Joseph Egan were on hand for the ceremonial groundbreaking.

Students and the K-6 school are currently attending classes at an alternate facility within the district. The arts focused school is community partners with many local arts institutions, including the George Street Playhouse, Carolyn Dorfman Dance Company, and the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra.
