New Brunswick High Student Arrested After Threatening Gun

New Brunswick High School was briefly put into lockdown Friday after a 16-year-old boy said he brought a gun into school.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — On Friday, we reported that New Brunswick High School was briefly put into lockdown mode after a student said he brought a gun into school.

Now on Monday, New Brunswick police said that student, a 16-year-old boy, has been arrested.

At approximately 9:20 a.m. Friday, Jan. 19, New Brunswick police were called to New Brunswick High School on the possible threat of a gun brought into the school. The school was immediately put into lockdown, which was lifted at 11:35 a.m.

No gun was found, but the student believed to be responsible for the threat was taken into custody and charged with terroristic threats and creating false public alarm.
