New Brunswick Teen Wrote Anti-Semitic Threats Towards School Admin: PD

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — Last Thursday, September 7, New Brunswick Police received a report detailing violent and anti-Semitic threats made towards a school administrator on the Instagram page for the New Brunswick public school system.

Following an investigation by New Brunswick Police Officer Jose Gomez, it was determined the messages were sent from a residence in New Brunswick, and a 16-year-old juvenile male was identified as the perpetrator.

The threats he made were specifically against the principal of New Brunswick High School, said a spokeswoman for the prosecutor.

On Sept. 8, the juvenile male was taken into custody and charged with an act of juvenile delinquency.

If charged as an adult, he would be charged with bias intimidation, false public alarm and terroristic threats.

At a Sept. 11 Family Court hearing, it was determined the juvenile would remain in custody at the Juvenile Detention Center.

The Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office said it will investigate every reported bias incident.
