New Voices | Keeping New Jersey Informed

Where do you want New Jersey's government to commit funds? How important is the bond between journalists & communities? New Voices Tells All

News Voices, advocating free local news and information to the underserved citizens of New Jersey, is making waves in the fight to keep community members informed. News Voices is campaigning for NJ lawmakers to contribute a significant donation to their cause.

The state recently received upwards of three and a quarter million dollars for the sale of two broadcasting licenses (from Montclair and Trenton; Montclair having grossed upwards of an additional $50M than Trenton station).

News Voices, back by non-profit organization Free Press, is urging lawmakers to create a public trust whose funds are dedicated to building professional and more personal ties between local journalists and citizens of their communities.

There seems to be a disconnect felt by many citizens and professionals within the Media industry between journalists and the local communities within the NJ borders. News Voices considers there to be “a local news crisis” that needs fixing. The goal is to encourage unity and amplify relations with friends of all the neighboring New Jersey communities. If you’re passionate about also making a difference, you can reach out to State Lawmakers and urge them to get involved; donating some of their recently entrusted budget to these heartfelt causes.
