Man Sold Shoplifted Items from Barnes and Noble on eBay, Prosecutors Say
This Piscataway man ran the operation for up to seven years before he was caught by U.S. postal workers, prosecutors say.

Piscataway, NJ - A Piscataway man appeared in federal court last week on charges that he shoplifted $200,000 worth of Barnes and Noble merchandise over a seven-year period, which he then sold on eBay.
Dominick James Izzo was finally caught when U.S. Postal Service workers became suspicious about what he was mailing to eBay customers.
From 2007 all the way through 2014 Izzo, 49, ran his alleged scam: He stole merchandise from Barnes & Noble stores in New Jersey, Florida and elsewhere using a “booster bag” to evade anti-theft alarms, prosecutors said.

A booster bag is a regular shopping bag typically lined with layers of aluminium foil. The foil creates an electromagnetic shield, preventing stores’ security systems from picking up electronic sensors on the items inside.
He then listed the stolen merchandise on eBay, prosecutors said. Accounts he sold from include Threefolks, GoThrifty123, Coyne412, Overstockgallery and Stand-upcomics386.
