NJ continues to be on edge: Another arrest was made in connection to a possible threat and an investigation was reported at another school.

Another New Jersey teen has been arrested for creating a threat at a New Jersey school, police announced on Saturday. The announcement came as an ongoing investigation was reported at another school.
Police announced Saturday that a 14-year-old student from New Brunswick Middle School was charged after he made comments about having a gun in his backpack. The boy was charged with creating a false alarm.
Also on Saturday, West Caldwell police confirmed there was an "ongoing investigation" at James Caldwell High School after several social media posts appeared that raised concern about a possible lockdown. Read more: 'Ongoing Investigation' At James Caldwell High School

The investigations in West Caldwell and New Brunswick came as many are on edge after a number of threats have been made at New Jersey schools over the past week. In New Brunswick, the initial threat came at the end of the school day on Friday when a teacher was made aware of the threatening comments made by the student. New Brunswick Police detectives and school officials quickly determined that the student did not bring a gun to school.
When interviewed by detectives, the student stated that he was just joking. A follow-up investigation was also conducted at the student’s home to determine that there was no threat of gun possession.
"The New Brunswick Police Department and the New Brunswick Public Schools take these threats very seriously," police said. "Even if students perceive them as jokes, the consequences can be serious.
