Three New Brunswick Restaurants are Awarded Honors From Wine Spectator Magazine
Catherine Lombardi, Stage Left, and Steakhouse 85 honored for their wine selections.
Wine Spectator Magazine has published its annual list of 3,700 restaurants bestowed with the honor of having the best selections and dedications to wine serving among their peers.
Both Catherine Lombardi and Stage Left Restaurants, owned by Francis Schott and Mark Pascal, were awarded the "Best Award of Excellence", while Steakhouse 85 restaurant, located on Church St., was given the "Award of Excellence".
According to Wine Spectator, the Award of Excellence is given to restaurants that offer around 100 selections of wine, and have a "themetic match to the menu in both price and selection."

2,827 restaurants were given this award.
The "Best Award of Excellence" is given to restaurants that exceed the standards for the Award of Excellence, in presentation, pairing, vintage, and offerings across different regions. Restaurants earning this award usually offer around 400 wines, according to the magazine.

Schott said that this is not the first time his restaurants have won this award: Catherine Lombardi has been honored every year since its 2005 opening, and Stage Left has won consistently since the awards have been given out.
The Best Award of Excellence was given to 833 winners, according to the restaurant.
The highest ranking award, given to only 74 restaurants nationwide, is the Grand Award.
