Two New Brunswick police officers have been promoted to sergeants.

Two New Brunswick police officers have been promoted to sergeants, according to the city’s Facebook page.
James Hoover and Pat Evans both joined the New Brunswick Police Department on April 25, 2005.

In 2010, Hoover received a life saving commendation after he performed CPR to revive a priest who collapsed from a massive heart attack.
In November, Hoover and Officers Raymond Hansen, Kevin Conway, and Michael Phommathep were given a State PBA Lifesaving Award for saving the life of a little girl who had been attacked by dogs over the summer.

As a sergeant, he will continue to serve in the patrol division.
Evans has worked in the patrol, street crimes and traffic units. As a sergeant, he will serve in the patrol division.
In 2008, the Evans was part of a team of officers who received a department Unit Citation for their work on a homicide investigation.
His father, Captain Lawrence Evans, retired from the department in 2002.
