Two people were hit by a projectile that was discharged from a passing vehicle in New Brunswick early Sunday morning, city police said.

Two people were hit by a projectile that was discharged from a passing vehicle in New Brunswick early Sunday morning, city police said.
According to a news release from Capt. J.T. Miller:
Around 12:40 a.m. the two victims were walking near Hamilton and Hartwell streets.

They told police they were hit by an unknown projectile discharged from a passing dark-colored, older four-door sedan.
One victim was hit in the arm; the other was hit near the armpit.

There were three or four males in the vehicle, but descriptions of them are limited.
The sedan fled in an unknown direction.
Both victims were treated at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in the city for non-life threatening injuries.
