Police: Two People Shot Outside Nightclub In Middlesex County

Two New Brunswick residents were shot early Wednesday morning during a fight outside a George Street nightclub in the city, police said.

Around 1:35 a.m., New Brunswick police were called to the Glo Ultra-Lounge on George Street, because of a reported disturbance, according to a news release from Capt. J.T. Miller.

The officers got out of their cars to break up the fight, but that’s when shots were fired from inside the crowd.

Derrick Fuqua, 37, was shot once in the leg, and Jawon Tyus, 29, was shot in the abdomen. Both were taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in the city, where they were treated and released.
