Visit Spain in New Jersey! Come to the "Feria de Sevilla"
Enjoy Spanish dance in New Jersey in a family oriented event. Flamenco dance, live music, workshops, Spanish food, arts & crafts.
Imagine yourself in a beautiful park...with flamenco guitars strumming...dancers in ruffled polka-dot dresses...the melodious sounds of clicking castanets...the driving intensity of flamenco footwork...delicious paella and more. Are you in Spain? Yes you are, but also right here in NJ! Bring your family and friends on Sunday May 15 (rain date Sunday May 22) from 2:00 to 5:00 pm and enjoy Alborada Spanish Dance Theatre's "Feria de Sevilla" at Woodbridge's Parker Press Park. Brought to you with FREE admission by Woodbridge Township, The Bank of Woodbridge: A Division of BCB Community Bank, UPS®, the Woodbridge Arts Alliance and other sponsors, this unique cultural festival will take you to the famous annual spring flamenco festival of Seville, Spain. Woodbridge Mayor John McCormac will welcome you and open this enjoyable afternoon of dancing performed with live music by Alborada's widely acclaimed professional company, educational workshops (dance, use of the Spanish fan and the percussive musical instruments castanets and cajon), a flamenco fashion show, delectable Spanish foods for sale, children's arts & crafts, and more. And Calling all Visual Artists...Bring an easel, sketch pad, or camera and capture the excitement of this festival "en plein air" - all art media welcome! Original art creations inspired by the Feria can be submitted for a curated exhibit to be held in September 2016 at The Barron Arts Center in Woodbridge.
