A heat advisory is in effect for the area until 8 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.
An air quality alert has also been issued.

The state Department of Environmental Protection has issued a code orange air quality alert, which means that air pollution concentrations in the area may be unhealthy for sensitive people, including children and the elderly.
Strenuous activity and outdoor exercise should be avoided.

On Monday, temperatures will climb until they reach 92 degrees around 2 p.m..
That’s when it will feel like 100.
By about 5 p.m., temperatures will drop back into the high 80s, and scattered thunderstorms are possible.
By 10 p.m., temperatures will be in the high 70s.
