Area Teens to Perform with the School of Rock All Stars featuring Legendary Allman Brothers Drummer Butch Trucks

Three students at Northern Valley Old Tappan High School will perform as members of the School of Rock All Stars in a concert on Sunday, 3/8 at Mexicali Live in Teaneck. Butch Trucks, a founding member of 1995 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees the Allman Brothers Band, will be a featured guest with the All Stars, and will play a repertoire featuring many of the Allman’s signature songs as well as some of Trucks’ favorites.

The students are Gabbi Morelli/Norwood (16 years old, vocals), Emma DiMartini/Harrington Park (16, vocals), and Graham Orbe/Harrington Park (17, bass guitar).

“Playing with a drummer of Butch’s stature will be unforgettable and awesome,” says Morelli, who studies music at School of Rock Tenafly, an after school music program. “As a member of the Allman Brothers, he’s used to being surrounded by some of the world’s top musicians, and we’ll do our best to show him the high level of playing and performing that the All Stars can deliver.”

The School of Rock All Stars is comprised of talented teen musicians from across the tri-state area. Songs that will be performed by Trucks and the All Stars will include “Whipping Post”, “In Memory of Elizabeth Reed”, “Dreams”, “Layla”, “Stormy Monday”, and many others.
