Bergen Man, Woman Had 4 Assault Rifles, Large Quantity Of Ammuition In Home, Prosecutor Says
Authorities found several firearms and high-capacity magazines inside the Bergenfield home of Keither A. Knaack and Laura V. Ruddiman.
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Authorities found four assault rifles, several handguns, and a large amount of ammunition inside a Bergenfield home Tuesday, Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal said.
Keith A. Knaack, 47, and Laura V. Ruddiman, 53, were arrested Tuesday following an investigation by the prosecutor's office, county sheriff's office, and the Dumont and Bergenfield police departments, Grewal said.
The Bergen County Regional SWAT team executed a search warrant at Knaack and Ruddiman's home and found the following weapons:

- Two AR15 assault rifles with sliding stocks
- Ruger mini 30 assault rifle with a folding stock
- Ruger mini 14 assault rifle
- Ruger .22-caliber rifle
- Walther PPK .380-caliber handgun
- Ruger revolver
- An antique rifle with a bayonet
- Three high-capacity ammunition magazines along with a "large quantity of ammunition"
Authorities also found 45 grams of marijuana inside the residence, Grewal said.
Knaack was charged with four counts of possessing an assault rifle, three counts of possessing high-capacity ammunition magazines, and being a certain person not to possess a firearm, the acting prosecutor said.

Ruddiman was charged with four counts of possessing an assault rifle and three counts of possessing high-capacity ammunition magazines, Grewal said.
Judge Louis Dinice set bail for Knaack and Ruddiman at $75,000 with no 10 percent option. They were both remanded to the Bergen County Jail in lieu of bail, Grewal said.
