Bergen Mother And Son Arrested On Drug Charges

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A mother and son were arrested after detectives saw them buy drugs and found heroin in their vehicle, authorities said.
John J. Schiraldi, 26, and his mother Lisa Schiraldi, 48, both of Bergenfield, were arrested Monday after detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office saw them conduct a drug transaction in Paterson, said Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal in a news release.
Authorities stopped the vehicle in Elmwood Park, searched it, and found heroin, Grewal said.

Schiraldi and his mother were each charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, namely heroin, the prosecutor said. They were released on their own recognizance pending an appearance in Bergen County Central Judicial Processing Court May 31.
