'Champion' Of Church Education, Father Of 2 Killed In Car Crash In New Milford, Reports Say
A New Jersey man who was called a "champion" of church education was killed this weekend in a car crash, reports say.
A New Jersey man who was called a "champion" of church education was killed this weekend in a car crash, according to reports.
Jose Tumaneng, 68, of Dumont was killed in a crash Friday when he hit two other cars and rolled over, according to the La Salette Seminary Alumni.
The accident occurred on Madison Avenue, near the intersection of Charles Street, in New Milford, according to the report.

When officers arrived on scene, they found Tumaneng in the vehicle and unresponsive, according to nj.com. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Hackensack University Medical Center Paramedics.
The alumni group said it was saddened to learn of the tragic death of Joe (Jose) Joe Tumaneng, saying he died in a freak auto accident this morning near his home.

"He may have been on his way to work," according to the group. "From the accounts, it seems he may have had a medical incident.:
Tumaneng did work in religious order and spent summers at Camp Pius and studying in Ottawa. He was married to Josee Tumaneng and had a son Marvin and daughter Felicia, according to the group.
"He was a champion for LaSalette of Jones, PI. As well as a devoted son of Our Lady of LaSalette," according to the group.
La Salette education is considered an ongoing process of growth, realized in the reconciliation and integration of Filipino Cultural values and those of Jesus Christ.
