Dig Into 5 New Milford Restaurants This Weekend

From Hawaiian shave ice to Italian classics, New Milford has plenty to put on the menu Friday through Sunday.

NEW MILFORD, NJ — If deciding what to eat feels like the hardest part of the weekend, New Milford has a few answers waiting along River Road and beyond.

For a sweet escape, Kailani Shave Ice & Ramen at 840 River Road is leaning into summer with colorful Hawaiian shave ice, available for in-store pickup. The menu also covers the savory side with ramen, udon and Spam musubi, inviting diners to “chill, slurp and savor.”

A few doors away, Barrel & Brew at 872 River Road has a summery watermelon salad with tomatoes, cucumber and feta. Street tacos, wings and tostones rellenos provide heartier choices.

Sanzari’s New Bridge Inn, 105 Old New Bridge Road, offers something more traditional. Its current menu ranges from mozzarella di bufala and linguine with clams to lobster cognac and scallops over porcini risotto. Reservations are available online.

Early risers can head to New Milford Deli at 846 River Road, which serves breakfast and lunch throughout the weekend. The neighborhood business says it has fed North Jersey customers for more than 20 years.

Roman Pizza & Restaurant, 858 River Road, rounds things out with handmade pizza, pasta, seafood and Italian-American entrees. The family-owned restaurant has operated since 1972 and also serves Italian ice, giving diners a cool finish to the final weekend of August.
