An Evening With Eileen Foti

Eileen Foti, a printmaker and assistant professor at Montclair State University will be the guest speaker for SALUTE'S General Meeting.

Foti, long committed to socially engaged art, has had residences in Morocco, South Africa, Botswana, Thailand, Croatia, Russia, and throughout the Caribbean. 

She was selected to receive the one-person show as the grand prize winner of "American Impressions 2009", a national juried show of works by professional print makers held at the Ben Shahn Galleries in spring 2008.

Eileen Foti will give a short talk about her print making and go into various processes print makers use. 

She will follow with a film; "which is all about an artist/activist in South Africa who empowers women of great adversity, by using art as the tool to achieve positive social transformation. Her work is inspirational, and the stories the women tell in the film are incredible."
