Former New York Yankees and New York Mets catcher Rick Cerone will be honored as the 2011 Man of the Year by the Northern New Jersey and Rockland County Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation (JDRF). Cerone will be recognized at JDRF’s annual Dream Gala, which is held each year to raise funds for type-1 diabetes research. This year’s “Field of Dreams” themed event will be held on May 14 at the Sheraton Crossroads in Mahwah, NJ.
The annual event is held to benefit the Northern New Jersey and Rockland County Chapter of JDRF and will be an evening filled with dancing, dinner and cocktails. In addition, silent and live auctions will be held to raise additional funds for the chapter.
