Breast cancer is not usually considered a cause for celebration, but for the more than 600 survivors expected at the 2011 Susan G. Komen North Jersey Race for the Cure on Sunday, May 15, it’s a much anticipated, truly amazing day to celebrate.
More than 10,000 people are expected at the Essex County South Mountain Recreation Complex in West Orange on Race Day. Celebrating survivorship, and placing it front and center of Race Day activities, has become the signature of the Komen North Jersey Race, now in its fourth year. But Race Day also offers lots to celebrate for everyone, including a Runner’s Race, a 5K Walk, a 1 mile Fun Walk, and a range of entertaining activities.
For additional information, to register, volunteer, or donate, visit www.komennorthjersey.org/race, or call 908-277-2904, ext. 14. Deadline for registering online is 5:00pm on Friday, May 13th; on-site registration will be available at the Registration Tent on Race Day.
