Yoga in the Morning, Tai Chi and Kickboxing Registration

Yoga in the Morning Registration:Tuesday & Thursday 8:30 AM starting February 2, 2012

This 45 minute class focuses on improving strength, flexibility and overall wellness through sequences of postures.  This can include a flowing movement that changes from pose to pose, warming and opening the muscles, joints and ligaments, as well as slower movements that focus on holding postures to increase the intensity of the stretch.  Yoga stretches not only the muscles but all of the soft tissues of the body, including ligaments, tendons, and the fascia sheath that surrounds the muscles.  This increases the range of motion and lubrication in the joints while building both internal and external strength. The result of diligent yoga practice is a sense of ease and fluidity throughout your body.

Tai Chi Registration: Tuesday & Thursday 6:15pm Saturday 8:30am

This 45 minute class teaches the ancient arts of tai chi and qi gong, which are well known for their therapeutic benefits (alleviating chronic pain, increasing coordination and balance, and improving circulation and breathing, etc.).  Tai Chi is a Chinese exercise intended to maintain the body’s natural balance, improve circulation and build internal strength.  Qi gong is the study and development of the body’s natural energy to improve mental and physical health through the practice of specific breathing techniques.  These breathing forms open up the acupuncture meridians allowing energy to flow freely through the body. Tai chi and qi gong also expand the awareness of oneself and one’s connection to the world. This improves the study and development of one’s self in martial arts, work, personal relationships and life.

Kickboxing Registration: Tuesday & Thursday 7:00pm starting February 2, 2012
