Girls U10 Soccer Wins First Round Playoff Game

They face off against Demarest in the second round this Saturday and will play for the championship on Sunday if they win

The New Milford U10 girls indoor soccer team beat Hillsdale 5-3 in the first round of the PVISL Playoffs on Sunday.

"Kayla R., Erin O., and Olivia G. combined for five goals," said Neil Gouldsbury, the team's coach. "Excellent offense play and passing  by Kara H. and Ally W. kept New Milford moving forward."

Gouldsbury said there was "amazing" defensive play by Manisha O. and Goalie Kaylee B., who has only given up 17 goals over the entire season.

"Off the bench hustle by Nina V. enhanced the tough defense of the Knights," said Gouldsbury. "Great support from Kylie V., Gianna B., and Nicole C. both on offense and defense gave NM the overall edge."

Gouldsbury said the next playoff game is Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Rodda Center in Teaneck on Colonial Court. New Milford will be facing off against the team from Demarest. The winner of Saturday's game will play in the championship game Sunday at Leonia High School at 2 p.m.
