Holy Week for Kids at Calvary United Methodist Church

Ages 4-11 years

What will happen at this event?

We'll invite your child to re-enact "some" events as we gently tell the story

• Palm Sunday Parade - marching, palm waving & noismakers
• Last Supper - eating a snack as part of the "Last Supper"
• Garden of Gethsemane - snoozing & snoring before Jesus' arrest
• Crucifixion - by carrying a cross in the building and touching a real "crown of thorns," we'll realize how much it hurt!

We'll make some crafts that help tell the story

• A beautiful, multi colored cross that reminds us of God's love
• An empty egg that reminds us of the empty tomb.

What will my child learn from the story of Holy Week?

• Jesus understands our feelings (and therefore ME!)
• Jesus shows us the importance of fairness & forgiveness
• Jesus gives us hope even when we are very sad or confused
