Mail Stolen From 3 Mailboxes In Front Of New Milford Post Office
Breaking: A 'large amount' of mail was stolen between 6 p.m. Wednesday to 7 a.m. Thursday, police said.

NEW MILFORD, NJ — A "large amount" of mail was stolen from three mailboxes in front of the U.S. Post Office on River Road this week, police announced Friday.
The mail was stolen from the mailboxes sometime between 6 p.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. Thursday, said Detective Lt. Kevin Van Saders. Post Office employees last emptied the boxes at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
The U.S. Postal Police and the New Milford Police Department are investigating the theft, Van Saders said.

"If anyone had place any mail in these mailboxes during this time, please make sure your mail reached its destination," Van Saders said, who noted that if any mail contained personal or financial information inside the mailer should contact their bank and monitor their credit report.
Anyone who can verify identity theft as a result their mail being stolen is asked to contact the New Milford Police Department and file a report.
