Memorial Day Party Guide at the Jersey Shore

The time of year when everything seems to come back to life at the Jersey Shore is here: Memorial Day weekend.

Hit up these popular spots for your induction-to-summer celebration!

Jenk’s Club, 300 Ocean Ave, Point Pleasant

The premiere nightclub at the Jersey Shore, Jenk’s has top notch live entertainment, can’t-beat drink specials, and high energy dance parties.

  • Saturday: No Standards at 2p.m., The Nerds and DJ Unique starting at 9p.m. No cover until 10p.m., $3.00 Bud Light 10oz aluminum cans.
  • Sunday: Flying Mueller Brothers at 2 p.m. with a guest host appearance by Lil Cee of 92.3 Now.

 

Martell’s Tiki Bar, Boardwalk, Point Pleasant Beach

Martell’s is the epitome of a beach bar--with their tiki huts, island music, and Caribbean inspired drinks. You can find local entertainment here nightly in the summer, and on the weekends in the off-season.

  • Saturday: Live music with Dr. Cheeko at 1:00p.m.; Drop Dead Sexy at 9p.m.
  • Sunday: Dr. Cheeko at 12:30p.m.; DJ Tempo at 6p.m.; 3AM at 8p.m.
  • Memorial Day: Dr. Cheeko at 1p.m.; Johnny Drama at 7p.m.


Beachcomber, 100 Ocean Terrace, Seaside Heights

A popular spot among the late night partiers, Beachcomber has nightly drink specials and the best cover bands on the shore.

  • Saturday: Steve Brown at 10p.m.
  • Sunday: Frankie and the Burn at 4p.m.(also performing on Memorial Day); Shorty Long and the Jersey Horns at 10p.m.

 

Hemingway’s Cafe, 612 Blvd, Seaside Heights

Hemingway’s is a covering-all-the-bases type of place, offering a bustling dinner scene, nightly entertainment, and a relaxing location near the beach.

  • Saturday: The Hottest Dance Party Down the Shore with music by DJ BTK & DJ Teo. No cover before 11pm.

McIntyre’s Pub, 213 Route 37 East, Toms River

McIntyre’s brings you “one hundred thousand welcomes” with a friendly pub atmosphere, live music, and great beer. 

  • Saturday: UFC 130 live on pay-per-view at 9p.m. and live music with Katfish Lucy at 10p.m. $2.50 Bud Lights.

Sawmill, 1807 Boardwalk, Seaside Heights

As a boardwalk bar, Sawmill attracts crowds of tourists and locals alike. A great spot to stop in for a beer after a hot day. 

  • Saturday: Triple Threat at 8:30p.m.
  • Sunday: DJ Doctor Feelgood at 8:30p.m.
  • Memorial Day drink specials all weekend: $2.00 Sols, $3.00 Sangria, $4.00 Margaritas, $3.00 16oz Miller Lite aluminum bottles, $2.00 Miller Lite drafts, and $5.00 Karma shots and martinis.

Leggett’s Sand Bar is one of the most popular and bustling clubs at the Shore. Their daily drink specials are usually some of the best.

  • Saturday: Lee & Sherry on the patio from 1 to 5 p.m. Bud Bingo from 2 to 5 p.m. Prime rib night from 5-10 p.m. with $2 Bud and Bud Lights all day. $5 Jack Daniels Honey drinks from noon to 6p.m.
  • Sunday: Blu Sky Duo with Jim Long on the patio from 2 to 6 p.m.

Bar Anticipation, 703 16th Ave, Lake Como

One of the biggest and wildest shore clubs, Bar A has a wide spread of sand bars, cabanas, tiki bars, and club floors. It is the place to be all summer long.

  • Sunday: Summer Jam 2011 from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. with Big Bang Baby, Daddy No Bux, Sideways, Garden State Radio, Crush Love, Little Deuce Coupe and special guests.


A large Irish pub and restaurant, Connolly Station has it all--from late night dancing to Sunday football.

  • Saturday: Toxic Twins at 5 p.m. Big Baby Ernie at 10 p.m. in the main bar and DJ A.K. in the Dublin Bar.
  • Sunday: The Bobby Byrne Show at 4 p.m. ASAP at 10 p.m. in the main bar and DJ Rob Busch in the Dublin Bar.

The history of this historical house goes back over a century as a boarding house. Today it serves as casual restaurant and bar just a few blocks from Manasquan’s beaches.

  • Saturday: DJ dance party begins at 10 p.m.

Named after a park in Dublin, this enchanting pub and Irish restaurant is one of the most authentic in the state. There are daily menu specials and weekend live entertainment.

  • Saturday: Live music with Green Underground at 9:30 p.m.
  • Sunday: Bantry Boys at 6 p.m.

Joe Pop’s, 2002 Long Beach Blvd, Ship Bottom. Joe Pop’s is one of the most popular shore bars and restaurants, consistently voted the #1 nightclub by shore residents, and they're known for having one of the biggest Memorial Day parties in New Jersey!

  • Saturday: Party continues with one of the hottest cover bands on the shore, The Benjamins at 10:30 p.m.
  • Sunday: Bitter X performs live.
    Force 1 DJs will be spinning at 9 p.m. and in between sets all weekend.

Quelle, 2500 East Bay Ave., Manahwakin- This seasonal outdoor bar is part of the Dutchman's Brauhaus, a long-popular German and American restaurant on Cedar Bonnet Island, just off the causeway to Long Beach Island. Quelle is now open from Thursday to Monday from 11:30am to late and has a raw bar and platters.

  • Saturday: Licor 43 Party from 9 to 11 p.m..

Nardi’s, Tavern, 118 Street & the Blvd, LBI-Nardi’s is a popular spot among beach-goers with their laid back atmoshphere and great location.

  • Saturday: Steamroller Picnic all day. Mike Bryne at 5 p.m.; Love Puppies at 10 p.m. Happy hour from 3-5 p.m. with half priced drinks and appetizer menu.
  • Sunday: Dave Christopher at 5 p.m.; Richie’s All-Stars at 9 p.m.
    Memorial Day: My Brother Pete at 5 p.m.; Ted Hammock at 9 p.m.

Caffrey’s Tavern, 440 Route 9 South, Forked River- Caffrey’s slogan is “no strangers here, just friends you haven’t met yet.” This friendly bar and restaurant has nightly specials and live entertainment.

  • Saturday: Live entertainment with The Mangos. Happy hour from 12 to 6 p.m. with appetizer specials from 4 to 6p.m. and $.25 wings.
  • Sunday: Live music with Filthy Fun. Prime Rib Night with half priced kids meals and $2.00 Coors Lights.
  • Memorial Day: Ladies night with $2.00 Miller Lites, half priced menu from 8 to 11 p.m.

Buckalews, 101 North Bay Ave, Beach Haven- Buckalews has been serving the Jersey Shore for more than a century. The restaurant offers upscale dining, while the tavern has weekend live entertainment and occasional holiday and theme parties.

  • Saturday: Live entertainment with the Jody Joseph Band at 9:30p.m.
  • Sunday: Live music with The Kookz at 9p.m.

Shark Fin Inn, 701 South Main Street, Forked River- Shark Fin is a casual shore-themed restaurant and bar with moderate prices and a friendly clientele.

  • Saturday: Happy hour on Saturday? Only at Shark Fin Inn. 11-7p.m. you receive reduced priced drinks and food specials. Performing live is Brother Pete band at 9:30 p.m. $4.00 Jack Daniels specials all night.
  • Sunday: $3.00 Mimosas and Bloody Marys, $2.00 Miller Lite pints, $2.50 bottles. Live music with Charlie Mack at 5 p.m.
