Bergen Dad Left Son, 3, Alone For Hours, Went To NYC: Police

Michael Mcnair, 28, of New Milford, was arrested after police said the child was screaming for his parents for hours, police said.

NEW MILFORD, NJ — A borough man was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly left his 3-year-old son home for hours while he went to New York City, police said.

Michael Mcnair, 28, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, said Detective Sgt. Kevin Van Saders.

Mcnair was arrested after police responded to the Boulevard on a report of a 3-year-old child who was screaming for his parents, Van Saders said. The child was not harmed and turned over to the state Department of Child Protection and Permanency, he said.

Police arrested Mcnair when he returned to his home, police said. He was released on a summons complaint with a court date in Central Judicial Processing Court.
