New Milford Fire Department Looking For Recruits With New Volunteer Campaign

New Milford Fire Department is looking for members of the community to join its ranks.

NEW MILFORD, NJ — The New Milford Fire Department is looking for more volunteers to join its team and has launched a new volunteer recruitment campaign this month.

No prior experience is needed to join and all gear and training are provided for free.

New Milford Fire Department is seeking volunteers to serve as:

Firefighters – Perform all functions related to fire suppression and rescue operations, flooding and water rescues, forest fires, and hazmat required emergencies.

Junior Firefighter (ages 14-17) – Train and learn the skills of the fire service, gain hands-on experience.

At 18, junior firefighters are eligible to train and take the role of firefighter.

The new campaign came in part to a four-year federally funded grant from FEMA.

The new website, www.JoinNewMilfordFire.org, will take inquires from the community and those interested can learn more about volunteer experience.
