New Milford Lanterns & Legends Tour Brings Ghost Stories To Historic Cemetery

Visitors can explore Revolutionary War history during a free lantern-lit tour of New Milford's historic French Burying Ground.

NEW MILFORD, NJ — Ghost stories and Revolutionary War history will come together in New Milford later this month during a free lantern-lit cemetery tour.

Lanterns & Legends is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 22, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the French Burying Ground, 19 Patrolman Ray Woods Drive.

Visitors can explore Bergen County's oldest cemetery while learning about its connections to notable Revolutionary War figures and events.

The tour will feature three historical stories: "Uzal Meeker: A Survivor's Tale," "Major Andre: The Sympathetic Spy" and "Baron von Steuben: Washington's Drillmaster."

Admission is free, and a rain date is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 29.
