New Milford Man Owing $17K In E-ZPass Violations Arrested: Police

Michael Mancero, 45, had 280 violations on 2 E-ZPass accounts, police said.

NEW MILFORD, NJ — A borough man was arrested after police discovered he owed more than $17,700 worth of E-ZPass violations and fees, police announced.

Port Authority Police Officer Leonel Gonzalez saw a Nissan sedan drive through an E-ZPass-only lane without paying on the George Washington Bridge's lower level at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, said Port Authority Police spokesman Joe Pentangelo.

Police stopped the driver, Michael Mancero, 45, who had a suspended license and no E-ZPass transponder, Pentangelo said.

A records check showed that Mancero owed more than $17,700 in tolls and fees on 280 E-ZPass violations on two E-ZPass accounts, Pentangelo said.

Mancero was arrested and charged with theft, driving with a suspended license and toll evasion.
