New Milford Ranked 13th Safest Place To Live In N.J.

More than a dozen Bergen County municipalities were included on top 50 list by CreditDonkey.com.

NEW MILFORD, NJ - New Milford was named the 13th safest place to live in New Jersey, recently.

The municipality was one of more than a dozen from Bergen County to be included on creditdonkey.com’s list of the top 50 safest places to live.

The website evaluated 2014 FBI Crime Report data, and looked at the number of violent crimes, robberies, property crimes, which included theft, vandalism, and shoplifting, and burglaries.

New Milford sits adjacent to River Edge and although it has roughly 5,000 more residents than its neighbor, it managed to snag a higher safety rating in our study. Only two violent crimes were reported in 2014, with one of those being a robbery. There were 17 cases of burglary and fewer than 80 property crimes reported altogether.”
