Open Auditions At The Sheraton This Weekend

Actress Martha Byrne's new performance camp in Paramus looking for performers to win four scholarships

This Saturday from 10a.m. - 4p.m., the Sheraton Mahwah Hotel will host open auditions for 13-25 year-olds in the area looking to break into singing, songwriting, acting, or other avenues of the entertainment industry.

Full Circle Talent Group, founded and run by Mahwah resident and Emmy-award winning soap actress Martha Byrne, and director/producer Mario Costabile, is hosting the audition to find talented male and female performers in the area.

Hopefuls will be competing for four scholarships to the company’s new Showbiz Boot Camp. Celebrating the Grand Opening of the Camp, which will conduct clinics and workshops on topics including acting, singing, songwriting, music/video production and resume development, two scholarships will be awarded to male performers at this audition, and two will be awarded to females.

According to the Full Circle Talent Group, after completing the boot camp, “qualified students will be invited to meet with agents, music producers and casting directors.  In addition, Vine Records and Full Circle Talent Group will be recruiting artists/actors for potential record, publishing and talent contracts.”

At Saturday’s audition, performers will be asked to prepare a three-minute piece to be performed for the judges, and bring a photo. Actors should prepare a monologue, singers a song, and songwriters can bring a recording showcasing their work. A piano will be available.

Byrne said she will be looking for performers who show drive and determination.

“We're not only looking for the talent, but the confidence a performer may have. We looking for true beginners and established artists that just need the opportunity to work with our staff to make the world more aware of the wonderful work they are doing.”

Full Circle recommends interested performers pre-register by emailing showbizbootcamp@me.com.

Performers who cannot make the audition Saturday can also email the agency to schedule a personal audition, or to find out about potentially emailing a videotaped audition.

Performers should start preparing now, as competition will likely be tough.

“I'm already impressed with the talent who have pre-registered,” said Byrne.
