'Stop The Traffic' Color Splash (Run/Walk)
Mission: Break the Chains is hosting a color run at NMHS in order to raise money to contribute to the fight against human trafficking!
Mission: Break the Chains is a New Milford High School club created by four global leadership students. We created this club in hopes of joining the fight against human trafficking. Many people do not realize the effects of human trafficking and where it occurs, even when it is going on in their own backyards. With our own personal service project “Mission: Break the Chains” we plan to help bring awareness to this global issue and hold several fundraisers to raise money to donate to the organization G.E.M.S. (Girls Education Mentoring Services) located in New York. Mission: Break the Chains’ goal is to raise awareness in our community about human trafficking. Mission BTC is committed to make this issue, which is often ignored, global. Through this, we hope to influence and bring about a movement within our school community. We hope to encourage people to take action and make a difference. We want to live in a world with no slavery. In order to do this, we need to work together to break the chains.
In order to raise money, we decided to hold a color run! We wanted to do something that was a fun way of communicating our mission to people and what better way to do that than a color run! It is way that we can have fun but still be able to support a cause that we really believe in.
Hope you are inspired to help and join the fight!
