New Milford National Night Out 2018: What You Need To Know

National Night Out is an annual initiative that connects the community with their local police.

NEW MILFORD, NJ — The New Milford Police Department will host the township's National Night Out Tuesday, Aug. 7 from 7 to 10 p.m. at New Milford High School.

There will be a block party on the field located behind the high school. There will be amusement rides, music, food vendors, ice cream, face painters, a dunk tank, and displays from the police department and branches of the United States military.

"This is a night for America to stand together to promote awareness, safety, and neighborhood unity. National Night Out showcases the importance of police-community partnerships and citizen involvement in our fight to build a safer nation," New Milford Police said. "We invite the residents to join us in giving crime, drugs, and terrorism a going away party."

National Night Out is an initiative in which people in towns across the country gather at their homes, on their streets, and at their local community centers in recognition of their support of the community. It helps strengthen the partnership between the community and police.
