The star stopped by Bookends in Ridgewood to promote her new book.
Today Show star Kathie Lee Gifford sat down with Patch to discuss the genesis of her book career, motherhood, and the value of reading to kids during her stop at , where she was promoting her new children's book The Legend of Messy M'Cheany. Adoring fans packed the book store and left with smiles on Gifford's third trip to the Jersey bookstore, who said it really is about the fans.
"It's enough outside the city to really feel like you're going to America," Gifford told Patch.
"The people are so sweet and they come and they have very intelligent questions, thoughtful questions. I wouldn't have the career I have if I didn't have people like this who would take two hours out of their evening . . . and they choose to be here with you. And you can never take that for granted."
