Widow Of New Milford Bar Owner Shot To Death 'Devastated:' Report

Myriam Ramirez's husband Damian was shot to death outside the Manhattan Brew & Vine, a Upper West Side bar he owned, police said.

NEW MILFORD, NJ — The widow of a borough man who was shot and killed outside his Manhattan bar early Saturday morning is shaken and devastated following her husband's death.

Damian Ramirez was shot to death shortly after saying goodnight to Myriam, to whom he was married for 24 years, The New York Daily News reported.

Myriam Ramirez, 45, got into her car and began heading back home at about 12:40 a.m., according to the report. Her husband stayed to lock up Manhattan Brew & Vine, the bar he co-owned.

It was the last time she saw her husband alive.

Damian Ramirez was shot by a man in a hoodie who walked up to him, pulled out a gun and shot him, according to the report.

Damian Ramirez, a father of five, was taken to Mount Sinai St. Luke's Hospital where he was pronounced dead, New York City police said.

"Everything was fine," Myriam said in the report. "Nobody knows why. He had a couple of people who envied him and had jealously toward him because when he puts his mind to something, he does it."
