Seniors Helping Seniors® In-Home Services Continues Its Tradition of Exceptional Service in Somerset County

Seniors Helping Seniors® now offers home care services to seniors and their families in Somerset County, NJ. Owners and local residents Rosemarie and James Reed work to bring in-home services including personal care, companionship, transportation, 24-hour care, medication reminders, grocery shopping, light housekeeping and much more to their Somerset County community. Seniors Helping Seniors® does this through a unique service model whereby they match seniors who need in-home services with seniors who want to provide the services.
The Reeds have extensive healthcare and business experience. Rosemarie works for a medical practice and James has managed operations and logistics for many different companies. The Reeds know what it is like to care for aging parents, since they provided a wide range of care to their own parents, such as scheduling doctor appointments, house cleaning, home repairs, medication monitoring and more. These experiences showed them how important it is for seniors to have someone available to help out when help is needed most, and inspired them to open a Seniors Helping Seniors® office.
“Our clients are like family to us and we care for them deeply,” said James Reed. “Our certified home health aides and senior companions are very carefully chosen. They have to pass state and federal criminal background checks, provide references, undergo several interviews by me and/or members of my staff, and, before they go out in the field they receive a broad range of training. In this business, being caring and compassionate, as important as those things are, is just the tip of the iceberg.”

In addition to undergoing extensive background checks, all Seniors Helping Seniors® providers and certified home health aides work under the direction of a registered nurse. All certified home health aides and companions undergo periodic training, and certified aides must re-certify as required by the Board of Nursing.
