Good morning. This is Mayor Angie Devanney. I’m calling today to give you several updates on the Route 78 Exit 43 Reconstruction Work that has been ongoing since Tropical Storm Ida and COVID boosters. 

 Due to the impacts of the storm, a 60-inch corrugated metal pipe adjacent to the Rt 78 West ramp to Diamond Hill Road northbound failed, which led to the ramp becoming compromised. Since that time, stabilization was completed. Weather permitting, guide rail will be placed, and resurfacing will take place to reopen the ramp by the end of this week or early next week.

 For those eligible, 12 years or older, or interested in getting a COVID booster shot, appointments can easily be made online or by calling for an appointment through Union County’s free COVID-19 vaccination program. Visit ucnj.org/covid19/vax. Or call, 908-613-7829. Moderna, J&J and Pfizer booster shot are administered at Down’s Hall at Kean University on Wednesdays and Fridays from 3 PM – 7 PM. 

 The Township in partnership with the Union County mobile vaccine unit will hold a booster vaccine clinic on December 27th from 10 AM – Noon at the new Town Hall multipurpose room. All three vaccines will be available-- Moderna, Pfizer and J&J. 

 You can also go online at covid19.nj.gov/vaccinefinder, and search for the nearest booster location by zip code or vaccine type or, you can also visit CVS and Walgreens websites for the first available appointments.
