Celebrating Healthy Moms!

Happy & HEALTHY Mother's Day! Smart Moves for Families.

"Mothers and housewives are the only workers who do not have regular time off. They are the great vacation-less class.” — Anne Morrow Lindbergh

With this quote in mind, it is important that all the moms out there remember the importance of not only incorporating healthy habits into day-to-day life for your family, but for yourself as well. Making a commitment to physical activity as a family helps provide a fun, positive atmosphere to make exercise enjoyable for everyone. Planning activities such as hiking, bicycling, and tennis are great for bonding and developing lifelong fitness habits.

The Department of Health and Human Service's Guidelines for Physical Activity states that children should get 1 hour or more of physical activity per day and adults should do 2 1/2 hours a week of moderate intensity physical activity.
