Councilman Lesnewich Named NJ Superior Court Judge

New Providence Republican Committee is seeking candidates to fill Lesnewich's seat on the council.

New Providence Borough Councilman Alan Lesnewich has been named a New Jersey Superior Court judge and as such will immediately vacate his seat on the council. 

"On behalf of the New Providence Republican Committee (NPRC), and of all of New Providence, congratulations and best wishes to Alan and his family on this new honorable vocation," said Allen Morgan, NPRC chairman in a press release. "Alan is a good, honest, and decent man, who brings a breadth of knowledge, experience, patience, conviction, and dedication to this very honorable position, and we can not be more happy, proud, and excited for him. Best of luck, Alan!" 

In accordance with New Jersey State Election Law, title 19, the NPRC will have to screen and present the New Providence Borough Council with 3 candidates to fulfill Councilman Lesnewich's unexpired term, the release states. A date for the screening will be set in April and announced shortly.

Anyone interested in screening for Lesnewich's vacated unexpired Council seat should contact NPRC Chairman Morgan (908) 403-8613 immediately. 

The New Providence Republican Committee welcomes all registered republicans residing in New Providence in good civil standing to screen for this position. Interested candidates should prepare a short bio, and a resume highlighting their community services, contributions, and involvements, along with references.
