How Much Electricity Are You Wasting?

Many homeowners think that turned-off appliances do not use electricity. But TVs, microwaves, stereos, computers—even cellphone chargers—still consume electricity when we think they are off.  George Washington University student Maxine Tagay, who has worked on several projects for the Berkeley Heights Environmental Commission, will speak about how to monitor energy usage in your home.  Thanks to the Environmental Commission, energy use monitors will be available to borrow with your library card so you can check how much your appliances consume.
