Girls Basketball Team Impressive in Senior Night Victory
56-28 win improves Lady Highlanders record to 15-4.
It was a night to honor three seniors -- players who have put their heart and soul into the Gov. Livingston basketball program for the past four years.
It was also a night when nothing but a victory would do, and the Lady Highlanders responded with a very impressive 56-28 effort against visiting Union Catholic.
Along with plenty of talent, it has also been the leadership of the three seniors -- Kim Osieja, Deb Kapilow and Jen Quaglia that have helped propel this team to their current 15-4 record.

As usual, smothering defense and a balanced scoring attack set the tone, with the seniors leading the charge. Kim Osieja chipped in with nine points, five rebounds and five assists, Kapilow had seven points, and Quaglia two points.
Becca Johnson added 10-points and nine rebounds in the effort, while Erin Ferguson scored 10 points.

At a halftime ceremony, the three seniors were called out to center court, where Governor Livingston coach Andy Silvagni honored the seniors for their commitment and leadership over the past four years. Posters, which were made by their teammates and hung around the gym, supported and acknowledged the three seniors, who are also captains.
Salvagni spoke about what they meant to the team and mentioned the players' college choices: Deb Kapilow (M I T & Drexel ) Jen Quaglia ( Marist & TCNJ ) Kim Osieja ( Albright & Washington). They were then presented with a bouquet of flowers. Each of their parents were invited out to meet the seniors at center court where they were recognized by the crowd.
