How to Fight Back Against Cyber Bullies

A special presentation on bullying will be held by Detective Nicholas Veltre of the Juvenile Unit, Union County Prosecutor's Office

Union County, NJ – Bullying has expanded well beyond the playground and taken on new names such as ghosting, swatting, trolling and catfishing.

How do you keep up with online bullying and how do you fight back?

A special public discussion, called “Bullying & Our Children” will feature a presentation by Detective Nicholas Veltre of the Juvenile Unit, Union County Prosecutor’s Office.

This will be held on Wednesday March 30, 5:30 to 8 p.m., at the Peterstown Community Center, 418 Palmer Street in Elizabeth.

The event is free and no pre-registration is required. Light refreshments will be served.

“Knowledge is the most effective strategy for helping your children navigate the online world safely and confidently,” said Union County Freeholder Bruce H. Bergen in a release. “This is an important event for parents, caregivers and anyone who works with youth.”

The event is sponsored by the Freeholder Board through the Division of Youth Services of the Union County Department of Human Services.
