New Jersey Youth Chorus 2026–27 Season Auditions Now Open
NJYC invites singers entering grades 3–12 to register for auditions for its upcoming season.
NEW PROVIDENCE—The New Jersey Youth Chorus (NJYC), a program of Wharton Arts, invites singers entering grades 3–12 to register for auditions for its upcoming season. Known for fostering musical excellence and personal growth, NJYC helps aspiring vocalists build confidence, strengthen musicianship, and form lifelong friendships.
Auditions will take place in June with registration for all choir levels opening April 1. Young singers are encouraged to apply and experience a supportive, inspiring choral community. To learn more about NJYC’s programs, visit NJYC.org.
NJYC choristers perform at a wide range of prestigious venues and events throughout the year. Recent highlights include appearances at Carnegie Hall festivals, a performance at Radio City Music Hall ahead of the Christmas Spectacular starring the Rockettes and singing the National Anthem at a New York Mets game. Choristers have also collaborated with renowned ensembles such as the Masterwork Chorale in a performance of Carmina Burana, Imperial Brass, and the Maplewood Glee Club.
The program also offers unique festival and touring opportunities. NJYC singers will travel to participate in a youth choir festival in Colorado, the Three Trebles Festival in Washington, D.C., and were recently featured at the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) Eastern Division Conference in Providence, Rhode Island. Specialty programs include “The Vocal Edge,” a middle school boys festival, and “Voices Rising,” a women’s choral invitational featuring internationally recognized composer and clinician Andrea Ramsey.
In addition to major performances, NJYC remains committed to community engagement, with appearances such as the Children’s Peace Festival at the Chatham Summit Quaker Meeting.
