New Providence Boys' LAX Overmatched by Summit, 16-1
Pioneers can only muster one goal against the state's top ranked boys' lacrosse team.
The New Providence Pioneers ran into the No. 1 ranked team in New Jersey, the Summit Hilltoppers, who won their 12th game this season with a dominating 16-1 win over New Providence at Summit's Metro Homes Field.

The Hilltoppers started the first quarter with a seven goal offensive barrage that took the New Providence squad out of the game early. Summit's hard checking defense also kept New Providence from getting off any good shots to the net until the end of the second quarter when Richard Nelson fired in the only goal of the game for the Pioneers.

In the victory, which kept Summit's winning streak alive at 57 games, eleven different players scored goals including three goals each from Sonny Round and Mike Ford. Every player on the Summit team was rotated into the game and contributed to the win over the Pioneers.
