New Providence Presbyterian Church Hosts Back to School Prayer Week

New Providence Presbyterian Church is excited to announce the days and times for its 2nd Annual Back-to-School Prayer Week, August 16-23.

With 5 interactive and multi-sensory prayer rooms, participants of all ages are invited to "drop in" to engage with each space at their own pace. The theme this year is from Matthew 28:20 "I AM with you always."

Ministry organizer and Elder Kelly Villanueva is excited to welcome the community back this year to pray for schools, students and teachers/staff. She said, "this is truly an opportunity for all of us to come together. Last year we welcomed nearly 100 preschoolers through college students, parents, educators, homeschoolers grandparents and caring neighbors. This really is for everyone, even if we aren't a student or parent/grandparent of a student, we all know students and teachers, live in communities with schools and have attended schools ourselves. All of us have a stake in our schools and prayer is a wonderful and powerful way to love and support children and families as well as all the faculty and staff who work so hard in education."

"I am still overwhelmed by the reach of last year's prayer week," said co-organizer Lorie Acciarito. "19 NJ schools were prayed for and an additional 30+ schools outside NJ (including colleges). The schools prayed for were in over 30 states and the global impact spanned 5 continents."

Designed as a "drop-in" event, the community is invited to stop by throughout the week during designated hours and a host will be present to get you started and answer any questions.

This year's schedule is as follows:

• Sunday 8/16 9-10 & 11:30-3

• Monday 8/17 11-2 & 7-9
• Tuesday 8/18 8-Noon
• Wednesday 8/19 1-5
• Thursday 8/20 5:30-7:30
• Friday 8/21 Noon-3
• Saturday 8/22 10-2
• Sunday 8/23 10-1

In addition to praying to support schools, students and families, participants are invited to bring new school supplies to those in need.

The church is located at 1307 Springfield Ave. in New Providence. Participants are invited to enter through the double glass doors off the parking lot and proceed to the prayer rooms located on the third floor (accessible via stairs or elevator).
