The New Providence baseball team took down Newark Academy, 4-1, during their game in the 3rd Annual Dad's Club Invitational Tournament at Roselle Park High School. This was the team's first time playing in the tournament.
The tournament was comprised of 10 scheduled games and the Pioneers lucked out when the weekend's nasty weather broke in time for their game.
The boys played well, with three of their runs being scored in the 4th inning.

"It was all good," said head coach Chris Brodeur. "We had great weather and playing on a Sunday is always kind of fun!"
The Pioneers will host St. Mary's on Thursday at 4 p.m.
