Primary Day 2017: Who's On The Ballot, Where To Vote In Berkeley Heights, New Providence, Mountainside

NEW PROVIDENCE/BERKELEY HEIGHTS/MOUNTAINSIDE, NJ — On Tuesday, June 6 voters will be heading to the polls to cast their ballots in the primary election. Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Locally in New Providence Borough there are two - 3 year seats up for grab. The primaries are currently uncontested with two republicans and two democrats vying for a spot.

New Providence municipal candidates:

• Jamie Baer Peterson, 200 Central Avenue, New Providence 07974 - Dem
• Keith Doll, 38 Ethan Drive, Apt 2A, New Providence 07974 - Dem
• Nadine Geoffroy, 62 Oakwood Drive, New Providence 07974 - Rep
• Robert T. Robinson, 209 Southgate Road, New Providence 07974 - Rep

In Berkeley Heights Township there are two - 3 year seats up for grabs, which is contested in the republican primary election with four candidates vying for a spot. The democratic race is uncontested with two candidates running.

Berkeley Heights municipal candidates:

• Susan Poage, 12 Eaton Court, Berkeley Heights 07922 - Dem
• Alvaro Medeiros, 21 Twin Falls Road, Berkeley Heights 07922 - Dem
• Marc Faecher, 107 Emerson Lane, Berkeley Heights 07922 - Rep
• Jeanne Kingsley, 9 Deerpath Lane, Berkeley Heights 07922 - Rep
• Thomas H. Foregger, 14 Dorset Road, Berkeley Heights 07922 - Rep
• John V. Leo, Jr., 43 Forest Avenue, Berkeley Heights 07922 - Rep

In Mountainside, there are two - 3 year term seats up for grabs with two republicans running and no democrats.

Mountainside municipal candidates:

• Keith C. Turner, 283 Bridle Path, Mountainside 07092 - Rep
• Deanna Andre, 1368 Wood Valley Road, Mountainside 07092 - Rep

On the county level there are three - 3 year term seats open for freeholder, which is uncontested. There is also one - 3 year term open for county sheriff, which is contested in the Democrat race with two candidates vying for a spot.

• Marc A. Krauss, 43 Owaissa Avenue, Springfield 07081 - Rep

Tuesday at 4 p.m. is also the deadline for candidates to file independent bids to run for public office. Unaffiliated voters can vote in Tuesday’s primaries by showing up at the polls and registering with the party of the primary in which they intend to vote. Voters can change their affiliation back after the election is over.

• District 8 - Runnells Specialized Hospital of UC, 40 Watchung Way
• District 9 - Governor Livingston, 175 Watchung Blvd
