Softball Standout Dani Todaro to Continue Career at Rider University

Righthander prepares for senior season.

Governor Livingston High School's Dani Todaro has given a verbal committment  to play softball for Rider University.

Todaro is a pitcher and infielder whoe earned membership in the National Honor Society and was a member of the 2010 NJSIAA Central Jersey Sectional Championship softball team.

The senior, who throws and bats right-handed, also plays travel ball with the Jersey Breakers.

She owns a 3.8 GPA and has been an honor roll student since her freshman year.

Rider University head softball coach Tricia Carroll has signed five other players for the 2012 season.

Joining the Broncs as members of the Class of 2015 are Krista Morrone (Pipersville, Pa.), Gina McCool (Marlton, N.J.), Deborah Dewitt (East Brunswick, N.J.), Amanda Irving (Westminster, Md.) and Lauren Davies (Mars, Pa.).

Morrone, out of Palisades High School in Pennsylvania, is a pitcher who earned player or pitcher of the year honors from the Allentown Morning Call, Bucks County Intelligencer and Lehigh Valley Express Times after throwing two no-hitters and two perfect games as a junior.

McCool, a shortstop, is coming to Rider from Cherokee High School in South Jersey where she is Vice President of the student council, lettered in soccer, basketball and softball and earned a spot on the 16-player Burlington County Carpenter Cup softball team in 2010.

Dewitt, an outfielder, is from East Brunswick High School where she earned Home News Tribune First Team All County honors as a junior while receiving the team offensive player of the year award after hitting .371 with four home runs while slugging .598.

Irving, from Westminster High School in Maryland comes to Rider as a utility player and is a two-time First Team All-Carroll County honoree while maintaining a spot on the academic honor roll every quarter in high school.

Davies is an outfielder from Seneca Valley High School in Pennsylvania who was one of 60 players selected to play in Amsterdam at the World Cup of Softball in January.

Rider returns 12 letterwinners this season from a team that missed the conference playoffs by one game for the second season in a row.
