Teen Charged With Assault By Auto After Critically Injuring Berkeley Heights Senior
Police say Brooke Eisenberg, 19, of Short Hills was driving on the opposite side of the road at the time of the crash.

New Providence Detective Sean Bubb charged Brooke Eisenberg, 19, of Short Hills with assault by auto after an investigation stemming from a motor vehicle crash on Central Avenue on January 22, 2013 at 4:37 PM.
Orville Behm, 75, of Berkeley Heights was critically injured during the crash.

With the assistance of the Union County Police Department’s Crash Investigation Unit, it was determined that Brooke Eisenberg was traveling east on Central Avenue when she crossed lanes and struck the curb on the west bound side of the roadway.
Pieces of Brooke Eisenberg’s vehicle and marks on the curb and grass were located by detectives 150 feet prior to the crash scene on the west bound side of the road. As Mr. Behm was traveling west bound on Central Avenue, he swerved in an attempt to avoid Brooke Eisenberg’s vehicle but could not avoid her vehicle.

Brooke Eisenberg was also charged with reckless driving and failure to keep right. She was released with a pending court date.
